List long for mounts

Post by Lysha » Sat Nov 13, 2010 3:29 pm

Hello, I've thought this for a while, but I would like to propose list long working while you are looking at mounts.

Sometimes it isn't needed in some cases
Creatures for sale: Price
an elegant white mare 3 platinum, 4 gold, 1 electrum, 1 silver
a regal white stallion 4 platinum, 2 gold, 1 electrum
But sometimes got get curious:
Mounts for sale: Price
an elegant white mare 3 platinum, 4 gold, 1 electrum, 1 silver
a regal white stallion 4 platinum, 2 gold, 1 electrum
Gorgorath, a black-maned warho 4 platinum, 2 gold, 1 electrum
I'll admit, at first glance, I saw and my mind saw War Ho. To remedy this, I typed list long and I was given:
Mounts for sale: Price
an elegant white mare 3 platinum, 4 gold, 1 electrum, 1 silver
a regal white stallion 4 platinum, 2 gold, 1 electrum
Gorgorath, a black-maned warho 4 platinum, 2 gold, 1 electrum
another warho. I know it says warhorse, you know it says warhorse, but my semi-still-drunk-also-sleepy mind saw something else. There are some lovely mounts out there, and I'd like to see what their adjectives say completely before I decide to buy one, or just to see and admire them. I know builders put a lot of time and effort into everything they do, and sometimes I just like to admire their work.

I think I started to ramble there, I'm sorry, but in conclusion, I'd like to see list long work with looking at mounts. Thank you.

Also examine.. or a way to see the description of the mounts, some builders have added that as speech prog on mount seller but it could be perhaps more adequate to have that as a command than dependant on the builders :)

It looks like most mount names are short enough that this isn't a problem, unless the mount has been purchased with a name and re-sold. That said, it might be pretty straightforward to let people use the examine command on creatures for sale, or to make list long work. I can put in an enhancement request for it if enough people think it makes the cut - so offer your support here if you want to see this.

I'd like to see either list long or examine. It's not high priority so in the interests of keeping the work down I think examine would be the more useful of the two.
