Player-Run Tournament Contest
Players submit ideas for a tournament that will be organized and executed by one of their player characters. All players are eligible to submit ideas. The players who submit the top two ideas (as decided by the game staff) will receive rewards. The top idea will be executed in game with some deity support for set-up. These events do not need to be a swords and sandals fighter's only competition; they should try to include as many PCs as possible and we are looking for creativity! (That being said, there is nothing wrong with a fighting tournament that meets the below criteria and is creatively executed.)
Proposed tournaments must:* Defined as: something from a TSR, WotC, REALMS-L, or Candlekeep resource from 2d or 3d Edition, be it novel, sourcebook, or web resource.
- - Be based in Realmslore*
- Be planned for about one session, two to four hours in length (this has been average for successful tournaments).
- Use an existing area in the game world (although reasonable props may be requested).
- Incorporate either all classes (warrior, rogue, priest, and wizard) or all nine alignments.
Those submitting should try to include as many types of PC as possible (races, classes, alignments) within the bounds of good role-play. They should also plan for a reward that you will provide (or receive from another PC), not one a deity would have to provide.
Proposed tournaments will be judged by:Submissions should be sent via Private Message to the Town Crier account. All submissions are due by 11 April 2011 and a decision will be announced by 18 April 2011. The date of the event will be planned at that point. Submissions should answer the five Ws (who, what, when, where, why, and how) and include as much background information as possible. Good luck!
- - Creativity
- Realmslore/ setting appropriateness
- Impact (the more PCs it could include and the more meaning it has, the better)
