Casting when dual wielding/holding

Code: Select all

Current situation:

You can cast in the following stance:
One handed weapon + shield in the other hand
One weapon + spell book in the other hand
Two handed weapons
One free hand

You can't casting in those stance:
One handed weapon + misc object in other hand (that is nor shield nor spellbook)
One weapon in each hand (dual wielding)
One misc object in each hand
I don't understand why you can cast when wearing a shield and can't when holding a light for example.
Or when wielding a two handed weapon but not when wielding 2 weapons.
Or when wielding a spellbook but not when holding a wand.

I propose that we either alow spellcasting whatever you have in hands, or if it's too much, that we extend it to the following stance.

Code: Select all

1h weapon + wand
1h weapon + scroll
wand + wand
1h weapon + 1h weapon
1h weapon + potion
1h weapon + light
Those are the main "combat stance" you would have, that will makes things a lot easier for wizards (and rangers) as they could actually hold a torch or wand or scroll and still cast, thus making them more manageable in combat without resorting to aliases (and thus making them more accessible in use for the new players).

For me it makes sense, I don't know what you guys think about it.

Shields might be allowed because when you wield a shield you're not actually holding it. The allowance might be because of this, but we can't show it because of code limitations.
