Hi there,

I do have one suggestion that would be helpful to players, especially since walk speed can be altered by various circumstances.

Would it be possible to show the player an echo of the speed that they are travelling whenever they move?

some thing like:

> e
you begin walking east

Shoot me if this is already in and I'm just too silly to have noticed.

Also, are there any plans of adding any of the classes from the supplemental handbooks? I'm curious to know what your plans are in this regard (elven bladesingers prestige classes, scout basic classes, assassins, etc... come to mind)

Thanks so much! loving my stay here so far.

Have you checked out the VT? To turn it on you type 'vt on'. At the bottom of it, it displays your walk speed.

If your client is not friendly with the vt, the zmud clients are. Some download links here.

There are no plans for new classes. :)

ACK!!! I'm on a mac! *cries*

I'm running mudlet on my mac. I'll double check to see if it supports VT.

note: I am 100% awful at scripting anything except for HTML and CSS and even then, I'm not that great at all... just saying so you get an idea of how inept I am at programming anything.

Mele is correct, there are no plans right now to code Prestige Classes. Still, you can look at some sources to find out more about Special Role-Play applications (Help Applications). There are some listed in this HowTo available on the forums, but another option is to apply for membership in some organization. You can use our extensive feat system to mimic some of the Prestige Class' abilities and, in some rare cases, further augment those with area code (like a magic ring or other object).

I should add the caveat that this sort of thing requires a long-term commitment of role-play and the confidence of the staff that you will live up to that role's description; it is not something just handed out. Hope that helps.

Interesting!

Thank you Harroghty! I'll have to study the system a bit more.

I'll also try fang when I get home.
