Teleport

While looking through the SRD, I came across a discrepancy. In D&D, teleport is a 5th level spell, while greater teleport is a 7th level spell. On here, though, teleport is a 7th level, and greater teleport is not in game. Was this done for game balance reasons? Shadow walk, for instance, is a 6th level spell, and does not, if I remember correctly, have any chance to send you off randomly. Perhaps teleport could be changed to greater teleport, with no chance to send you off randomly?

Can you list a practical difference in how these spells would function as applied to the game? Also would like to see the summon monster spell level split applied.

Teleport has a random chance of failure, teleporting you to some random location - I do not have access to the spell right now, so it may or may not make much practical difference. Greater teleport has no chance of failure. By failure I don't mean the spell not working due to armor or insufficient skill, rather the random location teleportation. Or, moving teleport to 5th level. This would potentially free up some 7th level slots, for other uses.

We do have spells that mimic this that are available in game. Astral walk is one I know, that and gate, though they are higher level.
