I was going to learn how to use scimitars one day when i realized...i didn't have single-edged blades in my weapons list....i have seen other druids wearing scimitars...i was wondering if this was based on god or if that weapon class has been recently taken out of the druids class?

It might depend on if you have been accepted into the faith. I know my druid did not have it until after she was faithed. If you are missing it and are in one of the druid faiths then I would suggest you send an email to hmm I can't seem to find the correct email. Perhaps someone can give it to you.

Actually E Gary Gygax and TSR never gave Druids bows as a weapon option and WOTC just carried it forward.
And as for a reason why they may not have been given bows: a bow is not a simple weapon to become skilled with, it takes skill and dedication and a good amount of time to learn to use properly let alone master. Time better spent in more religious pursuits and druidic duties. A crossbow was the missile weapon of the militia, much simpler to aim somewhat and release the bolt rather than learning the angles, arcs, and finesse required for a bow. A bow would be a weapon of those trained for combat moreso than for those who life is focused on many other things and martial skills are secondary.

Actually, it was the longbow that was the militia's weapon. They were common among the yeoman farmers of England and were used for hunting. The longbow is far simpler to make, maintain, and use than a crossbow. The English were known to be strong militarily simply because most of the farmers in the country had a longbow and knew how to use it.

I would have to agree with Mystra on this. If you've ever tried to shoot a bow its quite difficult. However, anything is learnable if you take the time. I think it would be a great idea to allow druids to learn it.

From my understanding Scimitars are the prefered weapons of Mielikki druids while Scythes are the prefred weapons of Chauntean druids. I believe it does matter which faith you are in as to which skills you get. And not all scimitars in the game are single-edges weapons. I was gifted a scimitar which is a double-edged blade and cannot currently use.

For mis-classed weapons should the builders e-mail be used to report other instances? Such as a sabre thats classed as a thrusting blade rather than as a single-edged weapon?

Of course druids would have to spend some time learning the basics of the bow and how to shoot it but they would still be inept at it, practice makes perfect and if the druid in question does not feel they have the time to perfect the bow or what have you then no one is forcing them, if another druid is feeling that they would like to work on improving their archery then nothing would be holding them back.

For those druids and elves who for whatever reason do not currently have access to the bow skill and feel that it is appropriate to their roleplay, there are IC ways of gaining the ability.
Weapon Proficiency Feat
=======================
This feat allows you to learn a weapon skill outside of your class/guild.
The trainer must be able to teach that weapon skill and be able to train the
weapon proficiency feat. This means the weapon skill will not show up if it
is not in your guild file.

Mielikkian Druids in tabletop are allowed use of bows and other weapons and armour that are allowed to rangers without breaking their oaths. Its one of those things that sets her apart from the other dieities. I say give it to Mielikkis druids.
