[Item] Locked Gauntlet

As grip seems to be a hot topic at the moment, I had an idea for a basic implementation of the locked gauntlet. Firstly, removing grip, and the trained skill, from fighter's skill lists. Second, a gauntlet item that grants +10 to the grip skill, or whatever amount would replicate the bonus. Then add it to either the rmi table, or a similar quest reward. Obviously this couldn't be more than a patch, as there would be no easy way to factor in the change to a full round action for reattaching a weapon, but it also wouldn't need much if any hard code to implement. Though it would still be overpowered, this would at least balance the grip skill between classes.

I'd find it a reasonable application to an RMI bonus item, sure. With a few caveats.
First:
This armored gauntlet has small chains and braces that allow the wearer to attach a weapon to the gauntlet so that it cannot be dropped easily. It provides a +10 bonus on any roll made to keep from being disarmed in combat. Removing a weapon from a locked gauntlet or attaching a weapon to a locked gauntlet is a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity.
Mostly, the full round part, and AoO.
The price given is for a single locked gauntlet. The weight given applies only if you're wearing a breastplate, light armor, or no armor. Otherwise, the locked gauntlet replaces a gauntlet you already have as part of the armor.
That means that it could be rolled as any armor type. Cloth, leather, light chain, scale, heavy chain, etc etc. Though the added weight would really apply to anyone, in the case suggested at the bottom.
While the gauntlet is locked, you can't use the hand wearing it for casting spells or employing skills. (You can still cast spells with somatic components, provided that your other hand is free).
Self explanatory.
What might actually be interesting is perhaps something that could be crafted by armorers, that could either be worn over the hand layer, or perhaps reside in inventory, like peaceknots. This would give crafters something nifty to do, and maybe make some coin, as well as save the necessity of adding it to RMI tables. Not to mention the added bonus of it working in addition to RMI or other quest items.

Agreed. This would provide an incentive for more players to take up crafting, as wel.
