A feat from 3E. Pretty much increases the damage of hand to hand combat, thereby making hand to hand more useful on this game :)

Extra damage with fists? Um...just wondering, but whered you get this feat from?
Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.
Gwain seems to display a look of complete horror for a second...

Improved brawling does not add more damage, at least not as far as I've seen, it just takes away an attack of opportunity when your opponent has a weapon and you do not.

Improved Brawling Feat
======================
With this feat you are skilled at fighting while unarmed. It helps
prevent an attack of opportunity by your opponent when they are armed and
you are not.

This feat requires that you are proficient at the brawling skill.

Iron Fists pretty much sounds like a monk-type feat to me.

I'd think feats that would boost unarmed damage would be straying into the realms of "enhanced damage" which is in the process of being removed. I really don't think there should be a feat to boost damage from brawling.

No, what he is talking about is not improved brawling. Very much different and it is a feat. I believe it was included in other books, but right before me I hold Complete Warrior and it states the following: +1d6 damage on unarmed attacks. The thing he forgot to mention, however, is that you must have stunning fist feat and improved unarmed strike (or brawling for those of you who use the inferior versions of D&D :wink: ) Basically, you sacrifice one of your stunning fist maneuvers for an additional 1d6 damage _one_ strike. Regardless of if the attack strikes or not, the one stunning fist manuever is still wasted for the day. It would be a near-useless skill here if used as such in my opinion. Even in D&D I do not tend to favor the feat. Though, admittedly, it is much better than stunning fist now that they gave it a saving throw. :cry:

The feat is in Sword and Fist, I believe. Also, it would be since there isn't a Monk class in the game, that a character who plans on focusing on hand to hand combat would be able to actually deal good amounts of damage with his attacks. (There are several feats like the ones Selveem and I have already named... besides the fact that a character that focuses on hand to hand combat's damage naturally raises with level.)

On a much delayed but still related note. Are there plans to bring any unarmed combat feats into the game?

Actually, just one feat to increase the damage done by bare hands would be nice. Or can one training in weapon focus (brawling) to improve the damage done while brawling? Maybe an "Improved Unarmed Strike", adapted for FK, such that it gives a +1 to damage for each skill level in brawling?
