This is awesome. Thank you. Reminds me kind of the annual author dnd, has a bunch of contemporary fantasy big names playing in it.

Yeah, Chris Perkins is a good DM. He runs a lot of these celebrity campaigns.

GenCon 2010 is one of my favorite ones; Ed Greenwood is a boss.

Sorry, but I have to say - these must be famous people or something (I wouldn't know) because the RP itself is hardly impressive (at least to me). The DM's got props and is well-prepared, but doesn't really DM all that well. This isn't a game I'd be itching to be part of (or watch). Even the gags don't seem as funny to me as many that arise in a less intentioned environment (i.e. without any mechanical gnomes with tummies full of booster-beer)! I shouldn't be so pejorative, perhaps, but I watched the whole thing waiting for them to get to the good part, and I didn't find what I considered to be one. Are people paying to watch this?!? The audience certainly seemed into it, though; maybe I'm just the odd one out.

They are moderately famous in some circles. Mike and Jerry are responsible for the Penny Arcade.

That being said, this reminds me of some fun games from younger childhood where RP and setting were not really as important as silliness and a good time. I remember opening a chest and having my character afflicted with an extra long tongue which could be used as a grappling hook and rope.

Nah, I don't care too much for the campaigns he runs for Acquisitions Inc. either. It's always ridiculous like that.

If I were capable of maintaining the rp, I would apply for that ability.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Patrick Rothfuss is a famous fantasy author, and quite funny. I follow is FB page, and blog. Official Website

Scott Kurtz is another comic guy Seen here

They are mostly comedians, and I believe it is to be expected that none of them can keep a straight face in the same room, in view of one another.

While I did find the video entertaining, it wouldn't be a campaign I'd like to be a part of. The thing is, the game is meant to be entertaining to other people, so out comes the potty humor and silliness. Anyone watching any of my games would be absolutely bored.

Our normal games aren't for other people to enjoy, its for those involved to be entertained.

Again, I found the video entertaining, but as soon as they introduced the huge robot, I immediately thought. "Oh god, I hope this isn't suppose to be canon!"

I agree with you, Wenin. However, I think there is always a time for ridiculousness in a game. My games are usually quite serious, with often just depressing situations. However, that hasn't stopped us from fighting a Dire Mack Truck, a watermelon-ental, and the cool-aid man. Even found out legitimate ways to explain them away.

Let it be known, that the watermelon-ental is a pride of mine. It was legitimately an impressive creature.
