Goblin PC stats and traits
Goblin PC stats and traits
Hiya folks I was looking through some of the race info in the character creation process, noticed a few things I had questions about. First was that under the "orc" races where Goblin resides, when race info is typed in, only Grey orc, mountain orc and half-orc appear. Was just curious as to the racial stats, abilities and such for goblin PCs. Secondly i noticed under many races, different spell-like abilities that I recognize from d&d3.5, this is a pleasant surprise. Typed in abilities on my gnome and I'm not able to use any of the 1/day spells listed under character generation. This isn't a big deal or anything, was just wondering if these were implemented yet, if I might have been typing something in wrong or they have to be "unlocked", trained or require certain stat levels. Also if someone could reply with the goblin stats, would be appreciated. Thanks for your time in reading this.

Re: Goblin PC stats and traits
The gnome ability list is a direct copy from SRD - unfortunately we don't actually have those spells implemented in the game to be used. I'm not sure about goblin stats, having never played one.

Re: Goblin PC stats and traits
I think the only races that currently have their racial abilities in-game are Planetouched and Drow, I could be wrong though. I haven't played a new character in a while.

Re: Goblin PC stats and traits
It looks like the absence of goblins from the Orcs helpfile has been resolved since you posted this.
Goblins get -2 STR, +2 DEX, -2 CHA, and that looks to be coded.
I don't see any daily abilities coded for gnomes, though deep gnomes do have theirs. Svirfneblin also have an effective character level (ECL) of 5, which offsets. I think that's the balance factor that comes in with racial advantages.
Gnomes do have a +2 skill bonus to listen coded; it is applied automatically. They also have a +2 bonus to saving throws against illusion coded in, but I'm unsure of the extent to which that's actually in play; saving throws were a work in progress last I was sure of anything. Again, nothing you have to do to invoke it, whatever state it is in. This isn't quite SRD (it indicates Hide +3, Listen +1, Spot +1) but I didn't do the races so can't speak to the underlying logic. Somebody did consider this, though.
