I have to wonder how important carry weight really is in relation to movement between rooms. Do not get me wrong, it is very important for proper bonuses as they relate to armour such as in the case of a rogue using his/her dexterity modifier towards AC.

For this suggestion, I am speaking strictly on the matter of carry weight and movement between rooms. Having DM'd a time or two, I'll admit I never gave a hoot about carry weight until such a point as the character begun hoarding and had broached their total carrying capacity. Otherwise, I felt it was a nit-picky matter with which I'd rather not bother in order to let people better enjoy the game. I suppose that is, generally, my point here. We do want realism, but to an extent. If we wanted realism, I think we'd all agree we would not be playing a fantasy MUD, yes? So, other than realism in burdening the character (and player), is there any benefit to limiting movement based on carry weight? At this time, the only result is that it takes me twenty minutes instead of ten to reach my intended destination where I hope to either RP, enjoy a quest, or train.

So, overall, my suggestion is that carrying capacity not influence stamina use (or perhaps to a far lesser degree) when moving between rooms. Carry weight as it applies to the ability of picking up new/additional items or AC bonuses in relation to dexterity are completely understandable.

I completely agree. This is a game after all (Games are fun) and I doubt anyone finds it fun sitting waiting on stamina when you want to get somewhere to RP or quest

I can't really speak to the usage of stamina, since being a ranger we get skill that offsets the stamina cost (at least I think it does).

As to the point of load being factored into stamina cost for movement, I have to disagree. The main reason that we don't pay attention to it in pen and paper games is due to the accounting aspect of the process. Being a computer game, the computer does all the work for us.

I would agree that the formula needs to be tweaked a bit to the player's favor, especially when it comes to mounts. They are tiring far to quickly.

Also the stamina restoration on pets is to slow as well.
