Well, link to the knock spell below on the SRD
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/knock.htm
was wondering why chests, and objects like it weren't included on the FK version.
Could knock spell work as written below?

Could knock spell work as written below?
I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!

First guess would be that the code just wasn't updated to allow for object targetting. Doors are part of room code, which is what the OG codebase used the unlocking spells for, with chests and whatnot being objects. I can only remember encountering a few chests, which were all quest related, so it might also be intentional to keep quest progression from getting confused; if getting a key assigns a qbit for you to go and talk to someone before you unlock a chest, and you bypass that whole step with the spell, unless the quest is set up to add another qbit when you open it it could never count it as complete. Besides cheapening the quest experience overall, proper implementation could require either revisiting all locked container related quests, or creating an object flag to disallow magical unlocking.
(This is all hypothetical. I don't have anything to do with how that stuff works here, so I was just brainstorming an answer for you while I sit around.)

Thanks for the speculation, Definitely possible as far as what was said.
If thats truly the case then I suppose its semireasonable just to deal with it.
Unless someone is willing to take some time out of their admining sessions and fix 1 or 2 each time till its done.
