Suldanessllar

I am a massive fan of the Baldur's Gate games, which I know are based on Forgotten Realms- actually set in the world. Now, in Baldur's Gate II, you have to save the city of Suldanessllar from an evil killer mage, typical homocidal maniac, etc, etc.

Now, I have several questions:

Does this actually exist?

If it does, can I have my alt character coming from the city?

I already have her coming from the Tethir forests, but I have always had it in my head that she was from the aforementioned city. I have not yet told this to anyone, so if it turns out that it doesn't exits and/or I am not allowed to have my character coming from there, it will not affect me too much.

In Forgotten Realms, is it assumed that the events of the Baldur's Gate sage have happened?

As a direct result of the previous question, if the events have happened in Forgotten Realms, can they be said to have occured in this MUD as well?

Thank you for your time,

From Lerytha, Scholar of Oghma

I think you can rp it, many player characters hail from parts unknown adding to the tapestry of the game, but just in case send an application to the application email.

I believe the sync here is almost the same as the fr world...if you need to find out about past occurances the best idea is to try and find out icly, though nothing is never known for sure and everything is speculation.

This should really be addressed by the Imms. While Forgotten Kingdoms is based on the Forgotten Realms (TM) campaign setting, like any game, the dungeonmaster (read: owners and Imms) have made changes to the existing campaign material to suit their game.

Baldur's Gate is still being built so I have no idea what the status of that city or anything else from that game series might be in relation to FK. It's better to err on the side of caution and wait for an answer from the staff before starting your roleplay only to have it stopped later because you're doing something that should have only passed through the application process.

The actual city itself, Baldur's Gate, plays no part in the game, Baldur's Gate 2. Rather in takes place in Amn and a bit in Tethyr, specifically Athkatla and Saradush. Wierd, huh? But the events of BG2 did in fact happen in the timeline of the Realms, so Suldanessellar exists as well.

See year 1369: The Year of the Gauntlet

Whether or not BG2 happened in FK, however, is up to the IMMs.=\

Having done my own research on this, I thought I would post my own response, to my own question, in case other people were wondering about this.

Suldanessllar does exist... there is a reference to it in "Lands of Intrigue", referring to a small city within the Forest of Tethir.

As already pointed out by Argentia, there are also mentions of the Baldur's Gate events in various timelines.

Thank you all for your help! :)
