Alternative to poison

Post by Alaudrien » Thu Mar 31, 2005 3:03 am

Well I was thinking. They have poison and someone nice or as in my thieves case wouldn't use poison unless it was for revenge for a death of a friend. But Perhaps a sleep type poison that when hits them and if you end a battle it has a chanceo f putting them to sleep ratherh than the normal poiisoning affect stopping a battle or hindering them? That or a skill like knockout where you sneak up on them and use the hilt of said weapon or your fist to hit them on the soft part putting them to sleep -shrug- just an idea! 8)

I like this idea, I can see different types of spores coming in role here.

I also like the knockout idea, it would make sense a thief would know where to hit a opponent to make them unconscious for a long amount of time.

Interesting ideas.

heck a Good enough ranger would know how to as well. Even though it isn't straight forward but if they want to subdue someoen without a fight so they could question or talk to em could probably do it as well ooga!

Syntax: sap <character>

Sap attempts to hit the target on the head and knock them unconscious.
A successful sap will stop the fight.

* This skill is affected by the type of armour you wear. Heavier armour
will increase the chance of failure in this skill.

This is not entirely the same as stunning a character, but does fit the roleplay of knocking someone out in order to question them.

I believe the idea of 'different' poisoning effects has also been discussed on another thread, though I had not the time to locate it before posting :)
Remember, should you encounter an angry Dragon and your only company is a Halfling...
...you do not need to run faster than the Dragon, only the halfling.

It's a wolverine, not a skunk... sheesh

useing sap I've noticed it doesn't really put them asleep. It just stops them from attacking. when the stun runs out they just attack again though.

it would be almost like they where under a magical sleep but its all physically being knocked out. So it wouldn't last two lines perhaps 1 tic/1 game hour. Or just aiding them would awaken them.
