Okay I know tymora has followers who are thieves. I have been told icly tymora doesn't look highly on stealing. Yet when I think about it. It just makes me think..when being a thief..you are takeing risk trying to get into someones pouches and etc. So wouldn't she like the chance takeing? But I can understand not doing it unless one nneeds to. I think a priest/thief of tymora was a member of the knights of myth drannor I cannot recall his name. I can also see a thiefy char maybe takeing an item and returning it as a joke. I am trying to get whats the do's and don'ts sO I can better play my rogue. hrm what else was there...well thats all for now thx!

Tymora is a chaotic good deity, so stealing is generally something that doesn't WHOLLY bother her. She would not condone going on a stealing spree, but you're right about the risk-taking.

I know a Tymoran thief character who ONLY steals from evil characters, and this is an appropriate roleplay. I know of another certain Tymoran thief who steals things from her friends when they're not looking (as a joke, of course) and gives them back later when they've realised their things were gone.

How you RP your thief is up to you, but Tymora does not frown upon thievery in prank or in jest. She actually quite smiles upon jokes, and has been known to do a couple of those herself. :D

Though it would not be fair to call Tymora cruel, she does delight in practical jokes, often attempting to bring good humor to stern deities such as Helm and Tyr through the careful application of gentle teasing and playful trickery.

So stealing from a follower of Helm would be looked well apon by your diety unless it does grievous harm to the person.

stealing is not evil, it is chaotic. Now stealing from the poor or harming a person while stealing is evil.

It is not the right of followers of a diety to deny their ethos to folks of opposite or same thinking. As a follower of Umberlee, we don't just drown the good, or the lawful, we take an even slice. As a follower of Tymora you would add luck and encourage risk taking to all walks of life.

You would not deny luck to an evil person because that would leave them only the option of fate, and alienating a market to your competetion is never a good thing to do.

Hmmm
Whenever my Tymoran thief has stolen ( which admittedly is not frequent ) I have a happy little glow which comes from my symbol. Telling me...YAY! You have favour! ( but not in those exact words!)

I have never seen a successful steal that did not result in the little glow. The favour does not distiguish between a playful trick or say... stealing a key to a jail... *whistle*

As I understand the faith...Tymora accepts followers of any Alignment ( see The FK website, Faiths and Pantheons Sourcebook and the Campaign book ) Which means... Not *all* the little thiefies are going to be "good." Some will steal in ways that are not cute little pranks, so it would depend upon that person's alignment and the way that they choose to RP The thief. There is a huge variety of alignments now within those playing Tymoran thieves. None of those thieves have the same RP or method of using their skills but, all will get favor for using the skills such as steal, picklock, detrap and rescue. Why? Because all are considered bold and taking a chance.

This is the second person I have heard say they were told this IC. HMmmm My advice? When you hear something like this IC get a second or third opinion IC. That way others can gently correct the misinformation through RP *giggle*

It is important to remember that Tymoran's are not neccessarily "goodies" even though Tymora is a chaotic good...she believes in spreading her luck equally without prejudice ( which I would say cheeses Beshaba off on a regular basis  )

May Fortune walk with you on your jouneys!
