Grease

A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. This save is repeated on your turn each round that the creature remains within the area. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Balance check. Failure means it can’t move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls.

The spell can also be used to create a greasy coating on an item. Material objects not in use are always affected by this spell, while an object wielded or employed by a creature receives a Reflex saving throw to avoid the effect. If the initial saving throw fails, the creature immediately drops the item. A saving throw must be made in each round that the creature attempts to pick up or use the greased item.

Material Component: A bit of pork rind or butter.

In game terms, I think this would have two uses. One, you can cast it on a room and everyone in the room who is not flying/levitating makes Dex checks to see if they fall (like falling due to snow banks or manure). Perhaps if a player slows their speed they can walk across the greased room with less difficult checks. It can also be cast on a player, which increases chance to fumble weapons (just like normal weapon fumbles). Syntax would be like:

cast grease (puts it on the room you're in)
cast grease <player> (puts it on player in your room)
cast grease <direction> (casts it on an adjacent room)
cast grease <direction> <player> (casts it on a player in an adjacent room)

If these multiple uses are not possible, I think the room effect would be most useful to wizards, though others may think otherwise.

How about a version of this (especially for gnome illusionists) called...

Create Marbles :D

Same effects as grease, but echos like:

Marbles pop into existence all around you! Suddenly walking around seems to be a bit of a problem.

Your being is covered with marbles! Everything in your hands starts to slip away on the smooth surfaces.

The ground here is covered with marbles. Not only does the light reflected off them shine in your eyes, but they are a major problem for those trying to cross over them.
