Military Leadership and Coat of Arms

Post by Isolrem » Sat Jul 02, 2005 12:42 am

A (paladin) skill that gives combat and ability bonuses to grouped members of the same faith (or other paladins).
"Together we ride, for lord and land!"
Chars: Aryvael et all.

A group leader with this skill gives combat and ability bonuses to other group members (automatic)
Chars: Aryvael et all.

I think it would be a great idea, but maybe for a spell instead of a skill .

I don't really see this working to well, perhaps maybe a tiny bit of ac, or maybe just a small amount of strength at the most.

I could see paladins having it, and maybe hero level characters (exhorting and so on), but I don't see every run of the mill fighter being able to lead/position others well as well as dealing with his own combat problems.

Also maybe priests or other followers of Tempus (don't they lead armies?)

Doesn't this fit under the same idea as your Military Leadership skill?

Just for different people the plusses would be for different reasons.

Paladins would get it because they would have gone through such training.

Certain heros would get it because that presumably would have to have been a prerequisite.

Some evils because they can make people fear them enough to obey quickly and efficiently due to fear of punishement/death if they fail.

So Paladins don't need a separate skill for this, IMO.
