Elemental resistances for tieflings

I have noticed that the resistances for cold, fire and electricity have gone from "resistant" to "average" for tieflings.
I know these names aren't completely accurate, and that the resistances may only have been lowered by a few points, but they may also have been completely nullified.
Now, I'm not going to go into any great detail or be a smarty-pants, listing the exact values of the resistances according to Races of Faerún or anything.
I simply ask for some light-shedding on this matter.
