Was thinking fighters should get a skill like this. It allows you to guard a person, at the start of a fight you would automaticaly rescue the person you are guarding. Do not think it should happen all throughout the fight just at the start.
Just a thought.

Perhaps a combatmode instead, with a feat for it? Or maybe just an automatic combatmode, which I think is preferable.
combatmode +/- autorescue
It would automatically rescue one person in your group at the beginning of a fight, if another groupmember was being attacked.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and go well with ketchup.
I disagree that a certain DEX should be a prerequisite for this type of feat, however; I do think a certain amount of training in the 'Rescue' skill should be necessary. I think that an 'Apprentice' level would be sufficient. This would make the character invest to a certain degree but not make what seems like a fairly straightfoward and reasonable Feat/mode/whathaveyou be too exclusive. After all, the feat would just enable it not confer any particular chance of success -- that could all be based on the same things an independent rescue attempt would be.
