Mage spells

Geneveve recently came across the need to learn the spell Produce flame. And with her being a mage I didn't think anything about it, until I went to try and learn the spell and found that it was not even on her spell list. Is there any reason for this? Just curiousity....

It is not there and I have asked another mage who says he does not have it either.

I had it trained before spell levels went in, that could be perhaps the reason.

My mage does not have "word of recall" on his level six spells, either.

From the D20 rules:

Produce Flame
Evocation [Fire]
Level: Drd 1, Fire 2

Which would explain why mages don't get it now, actually, no wizard gets it. Only druids and clerics who have fire as a domain.

and for word of recall:

Word of Recall
Conjuration (Teleportation)
Level: Clr 6, Drd 8

Which would be why wizrds do not have it in their spell lists now. It is only a cleric/druidic spell in D20.

Those older characters who had them in their lists prior to the D20 conversion and learned them would still have them accessible, but newer PCs created since the conversion are bound with the current spell list.
