Bored while the mud is down?

What about becoming a builder?

Do you have an idea that you think could be turned into an interesting dungeon? Perhaps you feel like building a small temple to extend a one-room temple? How about adding a side level to Undermountain? Or maybe build an orc encampment somewhere in the wilderness?

The mud is down, but the builders' web pages and lessons are still up! Area code might seem hard at first, but, really, it's the first step that matters. And once you start getting into it, it really isn't that hard anymore.

So... if you are interested in building an area, here's what you should do:

1 - Think about your idea, and try to describe it in a few lines. What is special about this area? Where would it be in the game? What will players find in this area? Do you want to include a quest? Will there be both sides (good/evil) to this quest?

2 - Send your idea to builders@forgottenkingdoms.com, along with an approximation as to how many rooms your area would have (first areas are better limited to something like 50 rooms, and we give out rooms in blocks of 50).

3 - When you get an answer, start building. Read the builders' lessons and use the Builders' forum to ask specific questions (as soon as your first project is accepted, you will be given access to this hidden forum).
