Repairing undead

Post by Duranamir » Tue Jan 16, 2007 8:16 pm

I think it would be very useful if Necromancers or those necromantically inclined had the ability to repair their minions.

This should only be possible out of combat and should allow repairing of broken limbs and such.

This could be done as a skill or as a spell possibly just a recasting of animate dead on an existing minions ? or a repair kit item that gets used up therfore incurring a cost for the repairs

Repair spells that can target undead and constructs should be easy enough to code.

Necromancers are arcane spell casters and dont get the divine cure/cause spells.

I'm assuming that you werent assuming that I didnt know that already, just so I don't have to drop a tombstone on your head :)

Yes, Necromancers are arcane casters, but within FK a number of spells appear in both arcane and divine caster lists under the same name due to the way they are coded.

Yes, Necromancers are arcane casters, but I would much rather see players needing other players to do things than have everything provided to their characters so that they can roam the game alone and unloved.

Necromancers undead minions are falling apart at the seams... find an evil priest to gee them up a bit

*sticks his hands over his head * No tombstone please....

Having a necromancer character (another reason for a tombstone i suppose  ) i have checked and they do not have access to the cause spells... at least currrently.

I understand where you are coming from as far as getting evil priests to help. I only thought it would be good for the necromancer class if they had the ability to repair there creations. IC it does not seem such a difficult thing a few pieces of bone and a bit of work and they could be as good as new.

.. ideally it would be nice if they could do things to enhance them as well.... but i will leave that for another time.

Could vampiric touch or energy drain - all using negative energy and all available to necromancers - heal undead?

Actually I tried vamp touch on one of Duranamir's undead minions a while back for this purpose and it promptly attacked me.

I didn't try energy drain though, that's possibly worth a go...
