Color Fields

I'd like to request a help file that lists the field numbers for colors, so that when you're trying to change a color scheme for a particular character you don't have to do it by guess-and-check or by logging out completely, and writing down the field numbers from the start menu where you set defaults. Not necessary, by any means, but I think it'd be terribly convenient.

Do you mean that lists what the colour field numbers are - as in 'what number corresponds to yell' for example? Cause you can see this using the 'color list' command.

If this isn't what you mean, sorry for misunderstanding!

'color' and 'color list' are the commands to show what each of the default settings for speech, channels, smotes etc are set to for your character.
The Help file on Colour wrote:Colour
The color command is used to customize the colours in your display.

Syntax: color [on|off]
color reset
color
color <color field> <foreground color> [background color]
color list

The color command is used to customize the colours in your display.

Color <on|off>: Turns the color on or off.

Color Reset: Resets all of your color settings to the default color
scheme set for your account.

Color: Shows a list of all color fields and their current setting.

Color <color field> <foreground color> [background color]: This changes
the color fields shown in Color. For any color field which displays to
others (Say Yell Tell Gossip etc) you may not choose a background color.
Those are to be left at the default backgrounds.

Color List: This shows a list of all available colors and backgrounds
with the numbers used in the command above.

Changing your accounts color scheme is done at the account level using
option number 5 at the account menu. After changing the color scheme at the
account level use the color reset command when you log a character on
to ensure that the colors are set to the account defaults.

A general HELPs question, then: everything is spelled properly on FK, that is, British! I was flummoxed by this when I first arrived too, in fact on this very same point. (Having the benefit of Peace Corps experience, though, I figured it out! Thanks JFK!)

Would it make sense for the helps team to go in and add American-spelling keywords where appropriate, or will that just make a mess of things?

I think that most of the helpfiles do in fact come up if you use either spelling. For example, "help color" and "help colour" seem to give you the same file (which incidentally uses both spellings in the text... in the same sentence. Internationalism! :D ).
