Pronoun target

I'm not certain of the difficulty that would be involved in coding this, but if it wouldn't require much, I think it might be quite handy to have a pronoun target.
For example, when targeting Bob, a male human:
$bob
targets the character, gives the description or name or 'you' depending upon who's seeing the smote
and the command I'm suggesting, maybe something like
#bob
targets bob but provides the appropriate pronoun for him instead of his name or description.
So, for example, one might smote:
smote smiles at $bob and asks #bob "How are you today?"
yielding:
(people Bob has greeted) X smiles at Bob and asks him "How are you today?"
(people Bob has not gereted)X smiles at a male human and asks him "How are you today?"
(Bob's player)X smiles at you and asks you "How are you today?"
