I wasnt sure where to post this, but here we go.
I have found myself with a great deal of leasure time at work. I also find myself thinking about FK at work and no way to PLAY fk at work. I have been lurking around the forums for the past week or so posting more than I ever have before.
What I was thinking is that I should do something constructive.
With that in mind I was wondering if the IMM's or Builders or anyone else needs me to write out descriptions for any locations. I dont know how to build or to code, but what I AM good at is writing.
I would like to be able to contribute SOMETHING to the game other than Caelyvar's general insanity so I was wondering if there was anything anyone needed doing.

You could always write books for the game.

I thought about that actually. But I dont know that I would consider that "Productive" Or giving back to the game. But its something I will consider

Actually, I have had many good times in FK reading various books written by players. A little spice of life or a funny story is always a positive addition to FK.

One thing I like to do is roam wizards.com and look at the free game resources they offer. Maybe if you look there and find a excert that you think would make a good addition to the game email the builders and apply to design it, write out a few descriptions of rooms, a map and npc's. It might not get coded right away but it provides you with something to occupy your time away from the game. Which evidentially turns into time with the game.

I'd like to second Japcil's suggestion, but make it broader. I've been encouraged to continue writing summaries of events and generally improving communication about events in the realms, ICly as much as possible, but the writing can be (and is best) done offline. It's clear the Imms would like to see more of this, and they have encouraged folks to do it several times. Caely may or may not be a good IC vehicle for doing so, but if you have creative writing talents and time to exercise them, they would certainly be appreciated if directed toward writings that document events in the realms - in real time, as Kingdom's Journal entries, or as books (in-game objects). There are also several cities missing maps and others needing updates, if you have graphic skills, and very few "guides to cities" or book-objects that help out folks new to FK. "The beginner's guide to avoid getting killed" or such... I'd suggest starting with something small, though, as it's very easy to take on a huge project and give up hope of ever finishing it.
That said, there may be area coders looking for help, too! Also, you could go through the builder's lessons (
http://www.gallwey.com/fk/builders/ ), even if you don't plan to code, to learn about description norms.

I think I will roam Wizards.com for a while and look into it. Frankly I would be just as happy designing mobs or even objects so long as I am doing something

Here is another thing, pick your top ten favorite items for your characters, or more, Do they have descriptions? If not you could write one and submit it. Better yet have you come across a magic item that even after the identify spell you couldn't figure out what it did? You could write a description for what is displayed for that too.
Enjoy.

Only problem with that is that I need the items. I dont have access to FK here. . .I guess I could cut and paste when I get home. . .hmm
