Here's an idea. How about using glory to purchase spells that are domain spells for your faith that you might not normally be able to do? For example, my priestess of Lathander might purchase the right to cast produce flame as something other then a domain spell, what do you think? It could cast like 5 glory per wizarding level of said domain spell, so to get a level 1 domain spell as a level 1 spell would cost 5 glory, and to get a level 9 domain spell as a level 9 spell would cost 45 glory. What do you think? That would make it very costly, but you'd be able to get a few new spells, maybe.

In the past, purchasing one spell/skill outside of your class or a skill/spell you could not learn was FAR more costly then 45 glory.]
Personally, I think this is a bad idea. I am a student of the old ways and while some of the cosmetic/low level spells I believe should be given out as special RP rewards ... (Say, example, Priest of Lathander goes on a quest for her god into the Valley of the gods, a place the mortals are not meant to tread. Deep in the Valley is an unwanted enemy who is hiding in the darkness beneath the mountains and tainting the water supply which is effecting the creatures who live in the Valley. Unable to penetrate the darkness of the caverns the enemy treads Lathander bestows the power to produce a flame to light your torches ... or bestows the power of witchlight to create a floating orb to guide your way. Upon success you find yourself still able to use his blessing ... upon failure you find that his blessed spell is no longer available to your tongue. Just an example)... and as I was saying while I believe that some minor spells of that manner should be given as RP rewards IF THEY ARE FITTING I do not believe that you should be able to spend your glory or kismet on a spell/skill that you should not have access to or ability to learn without some intervention.... But, intervention is meant to be a suprise, a bonus. Not something that you the player plans. But.. just my personal two cents

When this system was available, most of the applications we got went like this:
- My fighter has made a pact with the God of Time and has been given powers of time. I apply to get "time stop" as a skill.
- My wizard is very close to his god, and would like to apply to be able to channel his god's healing touch. That is why I would like to get "mass heal" as a skill.
Strangely enough, we had only very few applications for reasonable, low-level skills ... but many more for 9th level spells.

You know, that's not surprising at all.

Another idea that was mentioned at some point was to use glory as a currency to improve signature objects.
Signature/legendary objects would be unique, personal objects possessed by only one character. The improvement process would go something like that for example:
1) Find a +1 magical sword in a dungeon.
2) Spend kismet to make it unique (name it); e.g., Potato Slicer.
3) Spend kismet to make Potato Slicer +2.
4) Spend kismet to make Potato Slicer "flaming".
5) Spend kismet to make Potato Slicer contain 1 charge of "levitate" (rechargeable).
6) Spend kismet to make Potato Slicer allow the wearer to detect magic at will.
7) And so on...
Same could happen with rings, hats, staves, and so on.

I personally feel that spending glory to increase the potato slicer's hitroll/damroll is a horrible waste. Not to mention I don't feel it should be approved on the basis that FK has certain standards that all are expected to adhere to. [/endsillyness]
I dunno, personally until we can even see what +hit/dam it code-wise has, I don't think bonuses are all that useful.
I really haven't noticed a huge difference between weapons that are supposedly better enchanted than others that are moderately enchanted. I have noticed a huge difference in damage by weapon types, however.
In any case, would a Dwarven Two-Handed Waraxe that screams (in Dwarven) vulgarities (attuned to FK standards, of course) of Gruumsh and his illegitimates be something that could be requested with said glory? *rubs hands together*

Yes, but it also has a force command that forces Gruumsh to slay you every time he is online.
