Post by Dalvyn » Thu Sep 27, 2007 3:11 pm

Episode One

Running along the High Road of Waterdeep, Pascus Corren was close to missing out on his first voyage of the Calloused Wench, A ship he recently signed upon Captained by Johnathan Fallohand. Pascus ran as quickly as possible not truely keeping his eyes out for all possible events to transpire. Suddenly out of nowhere, as though appearing right before him an older lady carrying a large basket filled with apples crossed his paths sending him flying into her thus knocking her basket of apples completely out of her hands. The apples were scattered everywhere, mudding the apples entirely. "Blast you child, Now I am going to have to clean those apples all over again before they go to the bakery." Pascus still a bit dazed from the collision finally comes back to reality staring at the woman "Oh, I-I am sorry mam!" he reaches over for a apple to begin to help the woman clean up. SMACK! Suddenly he found his hand slapped by a fan extending from the old womans hand. "Dont even think of it lad!" she crones out "Those apples are going to the bakery, not your pocket!" Pascus shakes his head a bit before saying "I-I was not" suddenly getting interupted "Ill not have your lies, now off with you!" the woman barks out. Pascus shuffles quickly to a full upright stand and dashes off.

Arriving shortly before the Calloused Wench was going to depart the port, Pascus jumped aboard saying "Pascus Corren." he looks around as though to find the captain but instead he finds a shorter heavier set man with a large scar covering his face saying "Deckhan' Corren, Yer blastin self almost missed tha boat!" the short bald man peered at Pascus a moment before saying "Well get yerself on to work." Pascus looked around faintly as though he was as clueless as a newborn child into the world. A young man that had seen all this happen pulled him aside and said "I will fill you in, for now just roll up all that rope over there." Pascus nodded and rushed over to the rope wrapping it around his forearm and coiling it up. As Pascus was rolling up the rope he thought to himself, they all have the thick accent sailors were so known for, would he get the same accent? This made Pascus chuckle a bit, only to receive skeptical looks from nearby shipmates. Pascus later that night met with the younger man that helped him out earlier. "Names Tither." he nodded shaking Pascus' hand. Tither was another deckhand upon the ship Calloused Wench, and had been sailing on her for two summers now. Pascus and Tither talked all night, Pascus hearing all the stories of the ports Tither has seen and visited. Pascus spent the next few days learning how to do all the deckhands duty, making sure items were where they were supposed to be and where they were not. Pascus was learning how to scrub the deck one day, running from one side to the other making sure the deck was properly cleaned and ready for the captains inspection. Pascus pushed the brush with all his might making sure not to leave any sign of it not being cleaned, when suddenly he leaned too much into the brush sending him crashing into the boards of the deck. As he puts his hand on the ground to support himself getting up he hears a gruff voice "Ye alrigh there lad?" Pascus pushes himself up finally seeing the man infront of him as Captain Fallonhand. "Uh-Captain Fallonhand, sir." Pascus rushed to attention saluting the Captain infront of him "Deckhand Corren, sir." the Captain chuckled lightly putting his hand on Pascus' shoulder "Dun be so uptigh there lad." he shakes his head as he walks off to yell orders to the rest of the ship. Sighing Pascus was relieved that moment was over, but he would remember it for the many years to come.

The Calloused Wench arrived in the port of Corewell, an island west of the city of Waterdeep Pascus awed at its beauty. Pascus had never stepped foot outside of the City of Splendors before let alone set eyes of a city over the seas, but this was not a leisure travel for Pascus immediately when the ship docked on the port he was set off to work unloading supplies of various sorts into the storage buildings on the island. That night Pascus spent his first night far from the safety of his home back in the Trade District of Waterdeep's bosom. Walking around the city, and of course visiting a nearby tavern Pascus drunk into the wee hours of the night listening of tales from the other sailors about their adventures on the sea. The next morning came much quicker than Pascus could ever imagine. Pascus woke up within the bows of the ship and begun to ready the ship for its return to The Deep. This being Pascus' first trip he the more he traveled the more things he would see and hear. The ship left port that afternoon sailing along the coast towards the Deep. The many nights on the sea Pascus continued one thing he would stare up at the stars and the moon thinking of all the people he had met back in the Deep. Pascus thought about the words he had exchanged with a Priestess named Mariela the night before he left. Pascus thought about the countless stars and how the great goddess he admired for so long of his life had smiled on him guiding him to this ship, did this mean she had much adventure or something else? Looking out into the oceans he could only remember the time he struggled within its confines gasping for air, only to find death. One thing was for sure, he missed seeing all those he had come to know and the familiar paths of his home he grew up with since birth.

Episode 2

Love is always a problem for a Sailor; many have come to say that there is a woman in every port. But for Pascus Corren, his love life was about to turn into one of a sailor's. And so our story starts in the City of Splendors, Waterdeep.

Pascus was sitting in the square, watching various merchants and citizens that wandered its streets every day. Pascus found solitude in this watching the different people and their interaction with each other. Suddenly a beautiful woman came into the square acting in a odd and curious way. "Greetings." Pascus said as his usual greeting. The girl smiled brightly and said "Hello!" sitting down within the hustle and bustle in the square. Pascus and the young girl talked for quite some time, through all the hours of the night. It was shortly after they first met that Pascus came to know this girl as Laurie, A Bard of The Goddess of Luck. Pascus always had a soft spot for bards, their performances and passion for the spotlight and attention. Pascus suddenly brightened up asking if the young girl could perform for him. Laurie did so, performing a dark and saddening song about a lost love. Pascus listening seemed to be entranced by the song, as Laurie finished he clapped with so much enthusiasm showing his love for the song. Throughout the night Laurie and Pascus conversed with each other, ending it at the Lucky Drunk's garden. Laurie expressed her feelings for Pascus and Pascus agreed to see where things would go. After this Laurie reached up grabbing Pascus by the collar and pulling him down for one of the longest, most passionate kisses Pascus ever experienced. Surprised by this move, Pascus could only blush and remain speechless. Dreams of the future filled his head as he went to rest in the inn that night.

Several days had passed, with Pascus sailing to different ports and seeing a lot of Faerun. Upon returning to Waterdeep, Pascus went to the Square in hopes he would see the mysterious Bard Laurie. Instead to his surprise he ran into not Laurie, but it was indeed a follower of Luck as well. A lovely and intriguing woman appeared in the square, looking at him as though sizing him up to kill him, Pascus believed. "Greetings-" Pascus said with a thoughtful voice. The woman greeted him in return but not striking, which Pascus was thankful for. The two of them talked for many hours, Pascus finding out that the woman had indeed been a individual who had helped rescue a Goddess from the hells. Impressed beyond belief Pascus suddenly found he was awed struck at the woman as he listened to her. Not only that but she was much lovelier than Laurie was, Pascus continued to speak to the woman about his own life and it seemed as the two immediately connected on a personal level seeming to think and speak the same way even! As Cacie left, Pascus stayed within the square only to continue to hear stories of recent events in the realms.
Suddenly Cacie returned, speaking of a Beer Golem and dizzily walking around the square with vomit projecting from her mouth. Worried Pascus immediately rose to aid the newfound woman in a moment of fear for her health. Accompanied by another female named Estriana, Pascus and Estriana escorted Cacie to the nearby Inn the Singing Sword.
Suddenly appearing out of nowhere was a mystical being Pascus never seen, a wood elf.
Pascus gave the Innkeeper some money, to have Cacie taken up to a room to rest and recover from her current situation. It was at this time Pascus realized he had already started caring for this newfound woman, and that their paths must have crossed for a reason. After making sure Cacie was taken care of, Pascus returned back down in the main room of the Tavern with the wood elf. The two introduced each other, and Pascus came to find out that this woman too was a bard. Pascus listened to the tale the wood elf gave approving greatly, for if there be one thing a sailor loves, it be a good tale. Shortly after the Elf ended her tale, Cacie appeared looking better than her previous state. "Are you alright?" Pascus asked with a worried state, concerned for Cacie's well being. She nodded faintly, relieving him of any concern. Pascus gave his farewell to Cacie and the Wood Elf as well as the woman Estriana before heading to a inn for the night.

Waking up the next morning was a relief and a peace of mind to the sailor, for it was only the night before he had met the beautiful woman, Cacie. It was this day that he had a schedule to go to a place called Unicorn Run with the Priestess Mariela, which excited him greatly. He was sitting within the square when the sharpest pain in his arm, turning around to find Cacie who had pinched him! "Ouch!" he yelled out, grinning at Cacie. The two greeted each other and talked for a short time when Pascus told Cacie that he wanted to go to the Unicorn Run. Caught up in the location Cacie suddenly thought of a better place "How about another place, a secret place?" Pascus raised an eyebrow at this and shrugged, saying "Sure, why not!" and he gave a soft smirk as the two traveled outside of the safe walls of Waterdeep to the deep woods of the High Forest. As the two walked up the path, he admired the beauty for what it was and how the stars looked from the forested land's perspective. As Cacie came to a large body of water she turned, asking "Can you swim?" Pascus let out a loud laugh saying "I am a sailor, of course I can, or else I would be in some trouble." He smiles at Cacie in a flirtatious way as she nods taking off some of her over clothing to emerge into the water "Well come on, Sailor." Pascus slipped into the waters, emerging under the water coming up and splashing Cacie with some water.
Cacie led Pascus through the water, and under the waterfall to a small cavern. The two shared a moment as Pascus came to realize Cacie's beauty even more and leaned in kissing her on the cheek which sent Cacie's face into a complete and utter flush of red.
Pascus seeing this called her out, hoping to make her blush even more. With all these events coming Pascus knew that he could not mislead Laurie to think that he was hers and only hers.

After the long day had finished Pascus returned to rest in Waterdeep. After waking he was able to do some routine maintenance on the ship before heading to the Square. As Pascus arrived in the square he looked around for Laurie, being unable to find her he sat and chatted with Mariela and a new man he had met named Nash. Pascus began to speak to Nash about the recent events when Laurie bubbled in with the same charismatic attitude that had made Pascus notice her beauty to begin with. Pascus frowned softly as he thought in his head that he hoped it would not upset her too much. "Can we speak, Laurie?" he asked in a faint voice. Nodding, Laurie agreed and the two went back to where it all began: the Lucky Drunk's grounds. "Laurie listen, I need to talk to you about something." Pascus said softly as he sat down on a bench. Laurie looked at him hesitantly as he spoke and only nodded without saying anything. "I wanted to tell you that I met someone, Cacie Roffle, and well I have fallen for her." He just blurted it out, for it wasn't in Pascus' nature to sugar-coat anything. Laurie's eyes widened as she said "What!?" Pascus winced a bit and said "I don't wish to mislead you, but I fell for Cacie over some time." Laurie glared at him with most evil and hideous pair of eyes Pascus ever saw, as she yelled out "What did you do with her!?" Pascus blinked and said "Only a kiss on the cheek!" with that a piercing scream came from Laurie "LIES! LIES! LIES!" she flung her hand in the air guided by a furious feeling. This sent Pascus into a recoiled motion saying "Fine! I-I-gave her the most deep passionate kiss ever, if you don't believe me." Pascus' words came out in a manner that he believed no matter what he said Laurie believed what she already believed. Laurie shrilled out "YOU CHEATING LOW LIFE MAN!" as she stormed away her words cut Pascus like a knife "I will kill you." The walk from the Lucky Drunk's garden was a long and sadden walk and seemed as though it took days to get to the Square. Upon reaching the square Pascus looked around in fear hopping that her words wasn't a truth to come. "PASCUS CORREN TO THE FIELDS NOW!" Pascus jumped in his very spot, scared in fear. Mariela advised him that they would all go to the fields to see this situation out. As the group walked into the fields Pascus and Laurie saw the conversation out, Pascus seeing the anger behind Laurie's eyes saddened him. Only when all this came to be, did Pascus know he had to tell Laurie that he truly was sorry. After many threats for Pascus to leave, Laurie lunged at him drawing her daggers. As Pascus drew his dagger to defend himself, it was only then that Laurie sung a song that sent a sound burst out hitting everyone in the fields. With that sending everyone into frenzy and a massive attack Laurie was stunned, and her dagger sent flying across the dirt. "LAURIE!" Pascus yelled out rushing to her side to tend to her, he shook his head saying "I am sorry." But the only reply he got was "Leave now, or I will attack again." Pascus nodded faintly, picking up her dagger and handing it to her, and left the fields, heading to the Temple of the Moon. Entering the Temple of the Moon, Pascus' only intention was to pray to Selune. "Dear Goddess, my Lady of Silver and guide to the stars, I pray that I hope I did not disgrace you. For the only reason this came about was that I myself did not lead Laurie down a misguided path, which I know a servant of the Dark One would do. I hope I forever serve you in a good sight." Pascus ended his prayer as he rose up walking out of the Temple, his mood saddened.

Ending the night Pascus learned, A sailor's life is indeed a harsh one for you may have many ladies but what matters the most is the one true lady, Selune. As a Sailor you may wish for adventure and thrill, but remember it comes at a cost if not to you but to another.
