Thank you

The Administrators of Forgotten Kingdoms Mud.
Every new player recieves this email, from "Nobody", when applying for the FK forum. This email is a bit misleading. The "administrator of the board" is actually the player applying. And there is no second email that will arrive when the administrator activates you.

HELP FORUM explains exactly what has to be done. They have to go into the game and type "FORUM ACTVATE NAME." The problem though is that players don't know to look for the help file. They think the activation is out of their hands and in a stack of applications in an Immortal's inbox someplace.

I know it has happened to myself, the player who brought me to FK, and one of the newest players in game. I'm not going to give names because I haven't ask permission to use them as examples. Most of us either find out by complaining to someone OOC that the Administrator never got back to them or by having to ask on ASK channel only to feel very silly once its discovered how easy it is to activate.

I'd like to propose the following or a similar letter be auto-mailed to new players instead of the former email to alleviate this confusion:

I just want to chime in here and applaud your post. Not only did you point out a problem that exists, you offered a detailed solution. Thank you.

The last thing we need is people ooc complaining about imms not getting back to them.

Your account has been created. However, this forum requires account activation by the administrator. An e-mail has been sent to them and you will be informed when your account has been activated

You still get this message on the forum website after creating an account. And this message again gives the false impression that an immortal will be pushing the activate button at some time. This message should probably read something along these lines:

Your account has been created and is currently inactive.
