Instead of always having to pull out your water skin or what not and having to empty it on the fire to put it out, you could just hold your shovel and bury it. You could only do this where there is enough dirt of course, probably everywhere you can bury a corpse.

Try typing bury fire in game when having a fire, a shovel and a ground that is not too hard to dig through You might burn yourself when you're not using a shovel
