Alright, I hope nobody gets mad but occasionally I do bring up the fact of my other mud I am apart of. And one Idea I think would be great for this mud is a greet as and dub command.
This command would work as follows....
A character can greet another character with their true name, or simply
greet <Lirith> as <name> then Lirith would see you as that name.
Or if Lirith hears someone call you by a name, she can type.
Dub <Character> as <name> and then Lirith would see you as that name.
That way if someone has a alias, then they will always be known as that alias or name.
Greet and Dub
Re: Greet and Dub
This has been discussed in the past, even that specific command, "dub." I'm not sure if this is in the works or what, but I understand the previous Administration did not favor it.
Please check out the following threads for discussion regarding this:

These, as you can see, were found with searching the forums for the word "greet."
Now, personally, I would really be in favor of this option ("greetas" or "dub" command). I have a rogue who has only given his name to 7 characters, ever, who would not ever call him by that name. Unfortunately, due to how rare I play him, it is hard for other players to remember to call him "Fox."
I would really prefer a "moniker" command.. or "nickname" command.. Something of that nature.. That once you take on, anyone you greet will see that name. The problem is trying to store something like that on a pfile level - I don't know if the coders are willing to mess with things like that right now.
Just thought the info and suggestions might help.
