Would it be too much overhead to have an entire forum devoted to player status?

The idea being that each player could have their own post there, and update it over time.

Please don't take this as shooting your idea down, but is that truly necessary?

Imagine how many people we'd have to flip through; including people who may be on a long term away.

I dunno, just seems like a lot of work. Even for those posting they will be away (because some have multiple characters and don't want others to know their alts).

Seems redundant to me.

Searching through the current player status post for information on a specific PC is a lot easier with the new forum engine, so you're probably right: the same can be effectively obtained by searching within the general Player Status topic.
