Wikipedia as an FR Reference - No More

I've long used Wikipedia as my go-to resource for general FR knowledge. Alas, the powers that be there have shifted ever further away from welcoming that sort of content, though until recently it wasn't obvious. Now it is, as evidenced by all the "tagged for deletion" marks on the FR articles. If you, like me, are a fan of Wikipedia, as well as the FR milieu, this may be a frustrating development, but I'm convinced it's going to stick...and come to its eventual fruition, the removal of most of the FR content from Wikipedia.

I bring this up to explain what's happening to others who may be interested, as well as urge any fellow editor/author-types to spare themselves time they might spend editing or originating FR articles on Wikipedia. I've switched over to Forgotten Realms Wiki, instead, and am working on a project to rescue FR content from Wikipedia and copy it to Wikia.

If you are interested, you can read more about these developments at:
http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/F ... _Wikipedia
and the links therein, especially the Current Situation portion of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia: ... ms/Closure
The latter is written in Wikipedia geekspeak, but in essence: the FR content on Wikipedia is getting nuked.

If you want to help with saving content (much of it looks to be already done, but I know some rescues are incomplete), please read
http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/H ... _Wikipedia
first...and thanks for pitching in.
