[Command] Flee
[Command] Flee
It's been a bit annoying having to spam flee repeatedly until you hope it actually works.
Arrgh! You can't find the exit!
Arrgh! You can't find the exit!
Arrgh! You can't find the exit!
Until you actually flee.
My suggestion is removing the failure rate. Now we have mobs that track you down when you flee anyhow, not to mention most areas you will run into aggressive mobs when you're trying to flee, also.
Considering the difficulty that is already present in attempting to level both as a group and solo, I don't feel it is such a bad thing for a newbie to be able to flee from a dummy that sometimes takes more than 10% of their health per hit (and severs limbs).

Re: [Command] Flee
Alternately, have the PC automatically continue to attempt to flee until they succeed? WIMPY sort of does this, but it's not appropriate for everyone or every situation. I agree that one should not have to spam flee when they want to try to make a break for it, whether they need to get lucky to manage it, or not.
Re: [Command] Flee
I know this thread is very old, though I wonder if syntax: flee [direction] actually WORKS? I've never had it work once...
The echo I everyime I try the syntax: flee [direction] is "Arrgh! You can't find the exit!"

I'm unable to speak for the administration, but I asked the same question and my source explained to me that this feature was removed due to player abuse.

Player abuse? Thats odd... I'm trying to think how to abuse it? Though, I don't seem to be able to conclude any possible way to abuse this? Maybe I haven't played the game long enough.

Two players fake-fight outside a temple they cannot enter. One player uses flee [direction] to run past that pesky NPC barring the door and enters the restricted area.
That abuse. *shrug*

You do not need to change the world, merely leave it a little better than how you found it.

That would be why I couldn't think of a reason of abusing it. I'm not trying to break down the rules set in place. LoL creative Thx

*shrug* I remember when it was removed. It was an example brought up on the old forums.Erwyth wrote:That would be why I couldn't think of a reason of abusing it. I'm not trying to break down the rules set in place. LoL creative Thx

Re: [Command] Flee
I don't know the details, but I can hazard to guess that a player probably attacked something guarding an area then fled into the area.
*shrug*
They could have used it, too, to flee through an entire area.
I really don't know.

Re: [Command] Flee
or specifically flee to a new area the aggressor can't go to because of code
Listen up! People pay good money to see this movie! When they go out to a theater they want cold sodas, hot popcorn, and no monsters in the projection booth! Do I have to come up there myself? Do you think the Gremsters can stand up to the Hulkster?

Re: [Command] Flee
I just tried it on the testport, and I was able to flee in a set direction (FLEE EAST and FLEE E both) on an immortal PC, but not on a mortal. So the command functionality exists, but is closed off from mortal characters at the present time. The helpfile for FLEE already indicates this, but I wanted to confirm that it is the case.
