Waterdeep's School of Combat

I would like to begin to engender a little more fraternity within the Waterdeep School of Combat (the fighter's guild). To this end, I propose an organizational meeting in the game at some point next week. This meeting would provide a forum to discuss the future of the guild and, in particular, to discuss the potential for tournaments and training programs.
My schedule this upcoming week (22-28 March) is relatively flexible. I suggest Monday evening (perhaps like 2200 UTC/GMT). I would love to have recommendations for times and/or recommended topics of discussion from any other interested players of characters in the School of Combat.
Cheers.
Summary:
Proposed organizational meeting for the Waterdeep School of Combat at 2200 GMT on 23 March, 2009 in order to discuss future guild events.

Is this when you meant?

I'll try to get one of mine there IF I am off work by this time. I've gained more responsibilities at work, and there's no telling when my schedule will be changed.
Let me know if there's a certain character you want to attend either here, PM, or IM.

Yes, that is the time I am proposing. Thank you.
If anyone has another idea then please volunteer it. I want to ensure that the most people possible are able to attend. If you have more than one character who is a member then it is up to you to decide who you would like to bring.

Please be careful that you do not represent yourself as a leader of that guild unless you hold the position. A gathering of Waterdehavian fighters is more than acceptable.

Braeck can be there as long as I don't forget and nothing earth shattering comes up in RL.

I did not at any time state that my character was the leader of Waterdeep's School of Combat. The Waterdeep School of Combat has no formal officers, organizational structure, and serves really only as a vehicle to confer the class of "fighter". This is only one player of one member character proposing a gathering with other member characters for the mutual benefit that more activity within the guild can provide. I am sorry if anyone mistakenly believed otherwise.
I look forward to seeing as many others as possible on Monday! More people present will only mean more varied input and, hopefully, a better result.

I think my statement needs clarification. I was unclear of Harroghty's intent based on the wording in his post. That was why I chose to respond as I did. I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NO OBJECTION to the event as described, which matches the second part of my above post. My intent was to restate FK policy that people may not assume the heads of organizations without authorization. I am confident now that such was not his intent.
In retrospect, I should have asked for clarification rather than post the two possible readings of Harroghty's post. I apologize that my post came across as accusatory or if it discouraged people from attending the event. I think the event sounds like a good idea.

Reminder: This will occur today at this
time in the courtyard of the School of Combat. I look forward to seeing as many people as possible!

This was relatively short notice and so it ended up only being Harroghty and Drauglir present. Therefore...
A carefully penned notice is tacked to the doors of Waterdeep's School of Combat...
Comrades at arms...
Members of this guild have met and proposed a tournament to be held within the guild for the purposes of
training and fellowship. To this end, there will be another meeting within the tenday that more members
might be available to comment. Health and good fortunes to you all.
Rallyhorn
This meeting will be sometime this coming weekend (28 or 29 March). I am flexible, but I usually take a brunch on Sunday that occupies my morning. Anyone interested?

Just a quick suggestion as well, so more people see it, might be worth putting it on Events?

Good point. That may happen if people are interested in doing this. The big reason I posted here first is to have people's input on how we can engender more fellowship and activity in our guild. Feel free to post about that here, IC or OOC, if you are not able to make any of these meetings.

I can't believe I missed it!
Saturdays or Sundays are easier for me to remember and get to. I wish I had a way to set my phone alarm to work on a specific date....
If you have it this coming weekend, I'll try my best to be there again!

Just wanted to know if this ever happened. If so, will it be happening again? Algon would certainly like to show up for it now that he is back in town.

Grand to have you, but my ability to commit to a set time is gone while I am deployed. I can arrive to events with some degree of certainty, but not enough to host anything myself right now.
It sort of happened. One person attended. I still believe that this is important to do, but I am not able to run with it right now. Maybe after I return.

I would be more than happy to host something. Algon has been a member of this guild for a very long time. I would like to see a gaggle of fighters get together.

Go for it. Everything with the School of Combat is grass roots. I have some ideas about it, but it's not really ready to mind amidst all the other things going on. Shoot me a PM if you'd like and we can discuss it.
