Simple suggestion here... add bone as a workable material via woodworking. Not exactly wood I know, but it runs along the same line as items created by carving (like scrimshaw) and I have seen other items ingame with bone handles or made entirely of bone.
I see bone being sold in a few meat shops around the realms... so the material wouldn't have to be coded in. Perhaps if you wanted to take a bit further you could add bone as a byproduct of slice/skin. You remove the hide/meat, the skeleton is left.
No need to go that far, though it would be kind of cool.

Thus, that which is the most awful of evils, death, is nothing to us, since when we exist there is no death, and when there is death we do not exist.

Then might I add... how about bone being able to be used in leatherworking for armours? Or even that, jewelery? No need to stop at woodworking.
I could see an orc running around covered in a chestplate of femurs with a bracelet made of halfling finger bones.
