Wood Elves
Wood elves are also known as copper elves, and are amongst the
most numerous of the elven subraces, along with moon elves. They see
themselves as the natural caretakers of their forest homes. They also
tend to the outlook of growing their homes with humilty and compassion
,where the old elven nations grew with pride and strength. Copper
elves are a young and confident people, they often see their lands as
the natural progression from such realms as Cormanthyr.
Wood elves tend to a coppery skin, tinged with green, and brown,
green or hazel eye colors. Their hair is usually dark brown or black,
though occasionally blond or coppery red is not unknown. They tend to
dress in simple clothing like their moon elf cousins, but not quite as
colorful favoring natural designs and embroidery.
While Copper elves are as highly magical as their Sun and Moon kin
they have for the most part abandoned their arcane studies. While
Wood elf bards, wizards and sorcerors are not unknown, they tend to
follow the paths of Rangers and Druids when interested in magic.
Wood elves worship the Seldarine, but they also hold a special
reverence for the ancient forest powers of Faerun, such as Silvanus
or Mielikki. They also revere Solonor Thelandira, the Great Archer
and Rillifane Rallathil, the Leaflord. Solonor is actually considered
the special patron of the wood elven race.
