Elminster
Elminster, the Old Mage of Shadowdale, is a man much respected
and much feared in Faerun. A mage of immense power and skill,
as well as a Chosen of Mystra, Elminster is reputed to have been
involved in many important points in the history of Toril since the
second century DR. History places Elminster in Myth Drannor
before and at the time of the creation of the mythal, after which he
disappeared for several centuries before reappearing in Waterdeep
as a sage-for-hire. Soon after Elminster moved to Shadowdale,
and remains there to this day. He is a noted enemy of the Zhentarim,
Thay, and Mulmaster, and his friends include Lady Alustriel, Khelben
"Blackstaff" Arunsun, and the Simbul, amoung others. Elminster fights
for peace and good, and against tyranny, and has been rumoured to
be associated with the Harpers.
