Enig Quetia

Enig Quetia was born to a family of apple growers with an orchard in the
plains just outside of Daggerford. Although descended from a line of wizards,
they had long given up that tradition thanks to the actions of a certain evil
ancestor by the name of Puglim, who had blighted the family's reputation by
using his magical talents (mediocre as they were) for robbery and murder.

In spite of this Enig was the first Quetia in years to study magic, becoming
an abjurer through discipline and self-training. He subsequently opened up a
school for abjurers, the Azure Carapace, on the outskirts of Leilon, with the
aid and co-operation of the churches of Mystra and Ilmater, who provided much
of the funding and security for the project.

Enig is widely known professionally as an expert in warding magic, setting up
defensive runes and perimeters to protect buildings and villages. He's also
known for his tendency to experiment with slimes and other oozes,
particularly for the purpose of utility, creating ooze flavour additives and
acid slime to clean tarnish, and so on. It has been widely reported that many
experiments of his have a tendency to escape and run amok, but this can't be
confirmed.

In spite of his myriad accomplishments, Enig took far greater pride in his
family, and set them before everything else. He married a helmite warrior by
the name of Aveline and they had two children, the eldest named Garin, who
joined the faith of Chauntea as a writer, and the younger Sophie, who became
known for her extravagant hand puppets.

Although now retired from active adventuring, the spirit of Enig lives on in
the heart of every mage who says, 'What's the worst that could happen?'
