Gnome lands

Most gnomes prefer to remain among their own kind, living underground or 
in trees (for forest gnomes) in hilly, wooded lands. Their home are well hidden, 
by both clever construction and illusion. The gnomes who settle in human lands 
are commonly gemcutters, mechanics, sages or tutors.
