Grammar, Netspeak and Punctuation in Roleplay

In a text based medium it is very, very important to be certain you are
following the basic rules of grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. While
Forgotten Kingdoms is sensitive to the fact that many of our players do not
speak English as a first language, it is still very important that the
following things are observed. Unfamiliarity of the English language is
acceptable, lazy typing in roleplay is not.

Do not use netspeak. This includes things like u for you, ur for your,
thanxs for thanks, and all of the other forms of abbreviation used in
chatrooms, IRC, and other forms of internet communication. For many people
this throws off the pace of the roleplay. Remember, people can only judge
you by what they see on the screen in front of them.

Do use proper punctuation. Contractions should be used only rarely, if you
feel it is better to use a contraction than spelling out both words, please
make sure you properly punctuate. Im is not an acceptable form of I am, I'm
is the preferred usage.

Do capitalize. First word of the sentence and proper names, including the
personal pronoun 'I', should always be capitalized.

Do use the proper word. There, their, and they're all mean different
things. Make sure you are using the proper word to indicate what you mean.
