Kladian Sandail, Lorekeeper of Oghma
The first born of a human Ranger and elven Mage, Kladian grew up on
the outskirts of Waterdeep with his father Andrew, his mother Talia and
soon after his younger sister Tandria. As a child Kladian found himself
drawn to reading and other scholarly pursuits when he was not actively
teasing his sister Tandy. Things like pushing her into mud or putting
spiders in her hair were not uncommon yet he was the first one to Tandy's
side when she needed help or other children would tease her. Upon
reaching his fifteenth summer Kladian decided to leave his childhood home
and set out to see the world for himself. Travelling many leagues across
the breadth of Faerun during the next five years Kladian learned much
about the Gods. Visiting many temples, shrines, and sacred places until
he came to Candlekeep, the vast storehouse of Knowledge and tomes, at
that time his path in life became evident, he had been serving his
destinty all along without realising, he was destined to serve the Church
of Knowledge. After staying in Candlekeep for some time he returned to
Waterdeep, enrolling himself in the Font of Knowledge to begin the formal
training needed to become a priest of Oghma. Soon after he was reunited
with Tandria, whose destiny led her to service in the Church of Mystra as
a Mage.
The next few years Kladian's life was typical of many a priest in service
to Knowlege, learning, sharing, and protecting Knowledge so others can
benefit and not be forced to repeat the errors of the past. During these
years his life would be considered dull by many yet Kladian stayed true
to his destiny and with a passion he followed the ways of the Church of
Knowledge. And then came an event that surprised the young priest, he
met the Silverstar of Selune, a Lunette Greymir (and an utterly adorable
kitten named Nebula). The Silverstar led a life similar to his own, one
of dedication and commitment to her faith and church. The two priests
began spending time together, some would say out of a common bond: their
duty to their church, though it soon became much more than that. Love was
followed by a marriage blessed by both Selune and Oghma, Lunette joining
the Sandail family. Perhaps in time another addition will come through the
blessings Oghma and Selune, who can say what fate has in store?
