Shield Proficiency Feat
Syntax: Automatic
Prerequisites: None
Effectively using a shield in combat requires a knack - and if you have this
feat, you've obtained that. Without this feat, you will still be able to use
a shield, but you will suffer a -1 penalty on your attack rolls and an
increased chance of failure with skills requiring dexterity. With this feat,
all such penalties are negated.
* Warriors and Priests are automatically granted this feat by virtue of their
class choice
* Bards automatically obtain this feat upon joining their guild. It will not
cost them a feat point if obtained thusly.
* Rogues and wizards can train this feat from a trainer, by expending a feat
point.
* The use of a tower shield requires additional specialization, in the form
of the tower shield proficiency feat
