I disagree...it was more like 300 years. And whether or not it was more powerful...I'd be hesitant to say that it was. The mythal magic that exists to this day is still quite powerful many, many years after the fact. For instance, if it wasn't for an elven mythal spell, Waterdeep would have collapse...

Sure they tends to become great mages, but why? becase they have a gift? then why 90% of the 'best' mages of Faerun are humans?
