Although I find the idea a good one, I don't believe it is necessary. For instance, you can tell/roleplay how much a container should hold by its name or description. Say it is a large, leather backpack , then I believe you should put around 6 to 8, 2 pound items. Not many, if any do this however, s...

Yes. I agree with the previous posts. Things are fine the way they are and we shouldn't change a thing. When I made my last comment about increasing the amount of experience it takes to train, I wasn't thinking on a new player's behalf and how hard it would be for them to train anything, especially ...

I don't see how it is harder for wizards. I have a wizard, though I hardly play him, he always has enough experience to do anything as he gains it via spells. The only problem I ever have with my wizard and why I am unable to train anything is because I find it hard to collect money with a low-level...

and see exp gain to next level increase... I agree with Zach about seeing the experience needed to gain to the next level increased. As it is now, at least with my character I can go kill a few mobiles and I am able to level. Though, I usually never use it to level, I just let it sit there and grow...

Please, round me up when you come back :) I'm always wanting to go mining with a group, but I can never find anyone that either wants/can mine, so I'm always left with going to mine alone and being really, really bored. So please, seek Valdimyr out. He's always around and is always looking for a gro...

I'm glad that Velsavius is correct, because looking over the knowledge based skills they seemed that it was just another thing that didn't amount to any real gameplay value. I also thought that glory would be a good idea seeing as how in most SMAUG muds you can dish out glory in any increment you wi...

I'm not quite sure how it could be overpowering to reward them for exploring other than a very big amount of glory. Even so, they could reward them with .1 glory, which would take 10 areas of exploring just to get 1 glory point. Or, possibly they could think about the first idea when I stumbled onto...

Knowledge Geography
Is there any bonus given to players for having knowledge geography in a certain area? I was curious, if we could possibly get .5 - 1 glory for becoming familiar with an area and having geographical knowledge of that particular place? It could be sort of a reward for adventuring and exploring a parti...

Click Start, click Run, type in Msconfig and press enter, click on the startup tab, then go to the bottom and click Disable All, then click Apply and it will prompt you to restart your computer. When it restarts, a box will come up letting you know that you are running with a selective startup put a...

spells cast onto you
I've noticed that spells that have been cast onto you by other players seem to still affect you even if that person logs off. I was just curious, from a roleplay perspective how the spells would still be affecting you if that person was no where to be found in the realm. How would they have the mind...

I agree totally with you Mariela. Though, some rogues either don't agree with you or just have bad mannerisms when it comes to their roleplay. But yes, if you are hidden and you speak, it should automatically make you come visible to all players right then and there. The only rp that I could think o...

I will have to agree with you about discern should be an all time thing and not having to turn it on at a given time. Though, I will have to disagree about hide. What good would it be if there were many ways to be able to see hidden people? If there were more ways to see hidden people, than it would...

A few game mechanics questions
Question (A) Does your constitution play any part in a fight on how much damage you recieve? Example: (Mob A) hits (Player A) who is level 10 and has a constitution of durable and it deals 6 damage. (Mob A) hit (Player B) who is level 10 and has a constitution of unhealthy would it deal 6 damage as ...

I really wouldn't say that I am twinking skills. I mean, if roleplaying with your friends and going off into an adventure where you use the skills you have and take 10-14 hours just to raise one or two of them a notch I hardly see that as twinking. I heard the other day someone saying that the avera...

My thoughts on this........... I wouldn't put too much work into any type of system to stop twinks from power leveling. They benefit nothing at all from doing this, accept a hard reality that they are level 50 and have the skill level of a level 10. It would be rather embarrasing I think to look at ...

Duely noted. I appreciate the help and I am slapping myself in the head for this one......... I am usually very good about using all possible help files on a MUD, I guess it had something to do with it being so late, and having had no sleep for the last 48 hours. Oh well, just another day in the lif...

Is there a way to cancel a question that you have asked?
