a chest full of amulets / A treasure trove of rare artifacts is here. 10,000,000,000 platinum coins / An emperor's ransom has been left here. a Tablet of Fate / A small clay tablet carved with glowing runes looks somehow familiar. a not-so-plain cape / A length of fancy cloth is disintegrating as it...

Though before traveling to that city, you might want to have your character go buy the map objects. Just looking them all up on the website is kinda OOC... I imagine IC most people wouldn't know the layouts of more than one or two cities by heart. Plus, RPing a struggle with the map is always fun. N...

For the Garlites:
Glittergold guide your feet and hands
Through misty forests and golden lands.

For the Selunites (even though it's a greeting instead of a farewell, and stolen from Tolkien to boot :D ):
A star shines on the hour of our meeting.

As Talos and Andreas suggested, it would be really neat to have RP centered around the need for an interpreter. If the ideas in this thread came in, I could envision applying to make a translator character--a scholar (probably a wizard) who really focuses on learning as many languages as possible, s...

I guess I am sort of guilty of this, too... I have to say that personally, though, I've had a lot of fun with Ivaldi's accent. I've been trying to slowly clean it up, however (as he spends more time around humans, reads more literature written in common, etc.) On a related note, I guess that in some...

Aaaaah! Aaaaah!

*hops up and down excitedly*

I would definitely go to see that, Jadom... ever since the first Lord of the Rings movie, Christopher Lee is my favorite actor of all time for those powerful evil roles.

Hmm... I have mixed feelings about this one. It would be convenient, but I think it would also destroy a lot of the experience of being a young wizard. In many ways, young wizards are forced to find other people to help them. The School of Wonder classes, especially, make students seek out other cha...

One thing I must say is that people do tend to fly a lot more than seems realistic. I admit it's extremely convenient (especially for us smallfolk, trying to travel long distances on our short little legs  ). In terms of RP, however, I think it's a little weird to fly at all while in a city. Ev...

Ivaldi doesn't look like anyone in particular, as far as I know... but there is one little detail in his description that is a reference to Tolkien's description of Gandalf. As far as I know only my brother has noticed it so far, but that would be because very few people are as obsessed with Tolkien...

I had to do an interrupted tell in one of the first RPs I was involved in. It went along the lines of: " I think I found [something related to the RP] and ye might want to see--uh--'ey! " ...which is basically the same as what you were thinking of, but I don't know if that was quite what t...

Tailoring, cloth making and dying trade

Would a dye trade be feasible? Basically it would allow you to recolor cloth, and maybe some leather items. I was wondering about this since some of us are obsessed with dressing completely in one color :D ... more seriously, there has been a lot of discussion about dressing in a certain color schem...
