Re: Player Status
New job in RL, it will be a while before things settle down enough for me to get back to FK. Hope to see you soon!

If there are two similarly named merchants (such as the ones in Waterdeep) in the same room,
list 2.merchant
doesn't work as well.

My apologies that Jharthyne had to miss this gathering due to something that cropped up RL last minute, see you at the next gathering!

I will likely be late... it is starting at 5am here... I will try to wake up as early as I can to try to catch the ending of this event.

Hillsfar, Heroes of the Lance, and War of the Lance... probably the first few AD&D games made by SSI back in the late 1980s.

P.S. 400 kismet?! I thought I'd rack 200 and get my favorite race rolling... :(((( I am not an admin, but have been around FK for a while, on and off. FK is a RP MUD, the reason why we have kismet is to encourage RP. Kismet requirements are there for certain races and alignments because it is deeme...

It's a feature!Gwain wrote:Not to mention you can just repurchase a new token from the stable if you have lost the previous one. The code is smart.
I guess we won't be seeing any changes then, unless there are others with good reasons to share.

Re: Tokens from stables
A follow-on for my suggestion after looking at the replies from others. Proposal 1. Add to the existing long and short descriptions of the tokens so that we know which token belongs to which stable. However, this is not going to help for those stables using a generic token. If we use this proposal, ...

Tokens from stables
I noticed that when you stable your pets, you are given a token by the stable master which you use to retrieve your pets eventually. However, while some tokens have descriptions that state the stable (either in the short description of the token, or in the long description when you examine the token...

Re: Unfaithed/Uncoded Priest Spell List
If following a deity is so important to priests in FR/FK, can I suggest that it becomes part of their character creation process? Suggestion: 1. When a character chooses to be a priest, he is told in the character creation process that he can choose a patron deity when he reaches level 9. (Of course...

Re: Language spell for Paladins?
I have to say that I think this is not a good idea. We went along making the classes more in line with the 3ed rules, it doesn't make sense to give them abilities just to make them more able to fulfill their perceived roles. Rangers in the past were a lot more capable because they had skills that re...

Re: Alternative Levelling
I believe that good roleplay is being rewarded through the kismet system (a player can reward another player for good roleplay by the 'reward' command). During immortal-runned RP events, immortals can give out rewards to players who roleplay well too. Given that this is a roleplay MUD, I don't think...

I use tintin++ too! There is a port for it for Windows as well (Wintin++) so if you are using dual-boot systems, this is a good choice. Otherwise, Gnome MUD Client (gnome-mud) works too.

It may be best to ask this IC, especially if you can locate your group members. Or someone else might have done the same quest before and can let you know ICly what the activation word is.

Arthritis? Rigor mortis?
Maybe it is to simulate the bones clanking, or stiffening of joints after death? So they move slower... though they never tired.
Just a thought.

Re: Merchants Inventory
I haven't been playing for a while, so my knowledge of the skills and crafts may be a bit outdated. But instead of outright banning the sale of player-crafted items, one possible alternative is to lower the prices merchants pay for wooden goods. The woodworking trade is one way for players to earn a...

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
I think a few ways to work around the skill levels could be to throw in quests that improve your skill level with certain skills. For example, attending a class conducted by a NPC, after which your skill level in a certain skill increases by 1. The complexity of the quests can be tailored according ...
