Saidens concentration is just as high today as when he trained it back in the day. Not once has he ever "concentrated" on something successfully, and I believe this is because it only works when casting a spell. I've thrown out suggestions for making concentration work on some thief skills...

I wanted to know if Pick Locks could be changed slightly. Pick lock open pick lock closed This is so one might lock the door behind them and be less likley to get caught in the act. Just going through the forums and thought that this thread could use a bump for exactly what Cret is trying to convey...

I agree that something should be done concerning the sneak skill. I was tucked away in one of my favorite hideouts, when all of a sudden a NPC yelled saying they found me, and after interacting for a while, an authority figure showed up in attempt to peacefully arrest me. As they were walking toward...

The Watch found them, and tried to bring them in for questioning, which they made quite difficult. It was a cool RP experience for all involved, I think. It might have been a one-in-a-million, but it happened. Oh yeah, evading the law baby! Seriously though, that really was beautiful. I would never...

"pose reset" will do that, though it doesn't seem to be in the help file. dot dot dot You don't know how long I've wondered why there wasn't a command to make me go right back to standing in the middle of the room when I'm tired of sitting in the shadows. For the longest of time, Saiden w...

Accents

I believe this was brought up before, but never heard the results, and now can't find the string. But I was wondering if all races had to use accents when they speak in their own language. Like if a dwarf spoke in dwarven, would the player still have to type: say Ah t'ink Ah'm gonna head on up from ...

Taking blows

I've been wanting to show off in fights, by not fighting back and just dodging their blows, instead of using parry also. I'm wondering if we could turn parry and dodge on or off. So that if we just wanted to parry, we could. Or just dodge. Or neither. I've been in a situation as a fighter where I wa...

That is the only reason I can see why not to give back to characters what they loss due to a crash, or stupid mistake that leaves the person with their jaw on the floor when they realized what happened. That in order for it to be fair, it would have to be done for everyone. And I wouldn't wish that ...

Poison

Eearly in the day, on March 29th Rhiel and I were in the Old school of wonder, hunting demons. One demon in particular would poison the party, constantly. And in the heat of battle, we dropped everything in our inventories due to the poison. My backpack full of items I need to complete quests, a rar...

Roleplaying silence

Today, I caught wind of a guy complaining that I didn't roleplay stealing from him while he was meditating, therefore he had no clue he had just gotten robbed. I might be wrong, but I honostly believe that I roleplayed my part perfectly. I snuck in quietly, made my heartbeat stay calm, slowly pulled...

Religion and Race Enemy

Some religions are ordered to hunt down certain races. Moradin, orcs. Malar, elves. Etc, etc. I was wondering if it would make sense to anyone else if the "Race Enemy" in your score would be filled with the particular race your religion hunts/kills automatically upon entering the religion....

Well, alot of times you can't tell who belongs to what. Sure people might know what Saiden does for a living even though few know his name, but they don't know who he follows or anything beyond what he let's on. I suppose in this case, you're going to say something along the lines of "Ignorance...

I think that casting bless upon a person would be asking your deity to put his/her blessing upon the target. If that were the case, wouldn't the deity be the one to choose if his/her blessing should be laid upon the target? Sure you could attempt to bless a follower of Cyric if you're a follower of ...

Are you proposing that we have faction points? When one side goes higher, the opposite of that side would go down. You help a follower of Gond, your Gond faction points would raise 10 points, or so. All the while, your Talos faction points would drop 15 points. If this were implemented, it would ser...

Slip

Just so you all know, I was using a backpack as an example. However, there are many times that a thief will see someone with a container and curiousity will get the best of him. But upon stealing the container, he finds out that its contents has no value to him whatsoever, but could very well have m...

I propose a skill that would be the opposite of steal. I've done a search and came up empty, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been discussed. But doing this will create a thread just for those wondering about what everyone has to say on the matter in the future. Syntax: slip <item> <victem> If the ro...

Because I read the help file to concentration, I never bothered training it. I really do think thieves everywhere could find it most usefull if it were a skill that affected you for a time, but without you knowing when it has ended (like sneak, or hide). If concentration meant staying hidden better,...

Cloaks

This is something that I wondered about for years, even on the previous Mud that I played. I did a search to see if anything like this had been brought up on this forum, but came up empty handed, so I decided to run with it. If it has been mentioned, please just redirect me to that thread. I think i...

Theme Song

Well... given my characters full attitude, nature, and of course...profession... only one song resinates in my head to say is worthy of being Saiden's theme song... it is Prison Bound, by Social Distortion That'll have to work until someone writes a song with the theme of "Still Locked Up"...
