Re: Economy Test

Obviously if max integer makes the game crash if someone sells and puts it over, just set it so high that it's effectively infinite.

Economy Test

Set all major economies to max integer for a week and see if the playerbase enjoys this system more than the capped player influenced economy we currently have. If after a week players liked the old way more, set back the old caps.

Re: Economies

I didn't mean to seem aloof after my posts, I was just away from computer for a couple days at work. I'll post the suggestion to the game suggestions thread. What it basically comes down to for me, is that I don't know a single person who enjoys not being able to sell the worthless (read: things oth...

Re: Economies

I just wanted to add this separate point: PC's aren't the economy. DnD isn't about macroeconomics and the balance of world wide financial institutions. Everything our PCs sell shouldn't be viewed as an "economy drain" simply because other players have no reason to purchase the sold good. A...

Re: Economies

The problem, as noted above, is that sold items are rarely re-purchased, most sub-areas dont contribute to the main cities and despite all our best efforts there will always be those few who know how/where/what when it comes to emptying the economy. I find the idea that staff feels they should do a...

Re: Economies

I think it's silly, and should be much higher than what it is. Many times higher than what it is. But the way it is right now benefits those who are willing to put the time into making that money, which happens to be me, so I'm at an impasse, In my opinion there shouldn't be such limits. Player run ...

Re: [SPELL] Enlarge Person

Anything that makes you suddenly the size of an ogre and ridiculously strong, is definitely a beneficial spell. If you play with enlarge person and you only do it on people trying to harm you....you're making a huge mistake. An enlarged mistake. Canon mechanics: +2 size bonus to Strength, a -2 size ...

Re: [SKILL] SHIELDWORK

I got no echo about 'blocking' with my shield or anything, just a random 'You learn from your success and improve at shieldwork!'
I haven't gotten that echo since I've came back to the game about a month and a half ago.

Re: [SKILL] SHIELDWORK

Nah, it doesn't do anything. That's exactly what it should do. If you wear a shield, you get the set passive bonus (depending on type/quality of shield determining which body regions)....but, I'm also against varying degrees of damage based on weapon skill. That is what feats/enchantments are for. T...

Re: [SKILL] SHIELDWORK

I'm sort of a mechanical opportunist (rules dickhead) - right now I'd suggest even with all the new dual wielding feats, that sword and board still wins the majority of times at high level (without taking into account shield specialization, and only taking into account dual fighter vs swordboard fig...

Re: The Mobile 'Phone Menace!

There isn't a setting or medium where a no-question 100% automatic without any cost or reprecussion device that allows you communicate across nations and even planes of existance....for 1 gold.

I literally think the argument "Coooooome ooooooooon!" suffices after that first sentence.

Re: Elven Priest Class

Which would be the case either way, whether they're allowed to pick their own alignment or not. Right now it forces two alignments soley based on 2nd edition Corellon restrictions...I can understand having to app for an evil elf, I get that. But having to apply for a neutral elf? Half the elves in t...

Re: The Mobile 'Phone Menace!

My solution - Turn them into amulet booths, that only fit one person...and don't allow you to speak to dead. Remove all amulets of communication from the game. Exact same mechanics would apply (minus being able to speak to dead people), you can receive a tell when not in an amulet booth, but you can...

Elven Priest Class

There is a catch during the alignment phase of creating an Elf Priest, that forces you to pick NG or CG with the explanation that Corellon Clerics can only be those two alignments. First off, CN should also be an option as well especially for the Wild Elf race. But more imporantly, an Elf Cleric sho...

Re: <bind> and <gag>

The hard part in pvp is the tendency to see it as a competition. It's not a fight, it's a dance. You need to trust the person you are going against to show your PC the respect your PC deserves. Think of it like a comic book being written co-authored back and forth. Spiderman doesn't just buttcan Ven...
