Re: Instead
Do remember that in a D&D campaign, dates are set between x amount of people to do y activity. Why does everything have to be so spontaneous? Talk to a group of people who log at similar times and PLAN to do something! It'll be fun. WoW raids are planned weeks/months in advance, you know?

Re: Flamestrike's Damage Types
This is a good idea, and easily codable (on a stock ROM or Circle, anyways) with my idea: While it WOULD make the minimum power of the spell higher, I propose that flamestrike instead of rolling 1d6 fire damage per caster level, rolling 1d3 fire damage and 1d3 holy damage (per caster level). This wo...

3. Change the playerbase's take on what the spell results mean. ...However, we are asked to interpret the detection not as "I know this bloke is evil" but rather "you feel (distinctly) uncomfortable around this person." I really like this- I think I'll start implementing this in...

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
I'd suggest that maybe every time you memorize a spell, you have a -chance- to advance your 'practice counter' as Dalvyn put it, with a rule to ensure that people don't "mem spell;forget spell" for an hour to GM it.
Since you "study and memorize a spell" it seems plausible.

Baldur's Gate: Does it need a builder?
And is this an accurate map of the city?
http://swashbuckplace.bravepages.com/ar ... s_Gate.gif
if not, can someone please post an accurate map of the city?
I'd like to get started on building this town (preferably from scratch) if there is no one actively working on the project.

Re: Know Alignment: Not Fair?
Even as a persistant-spelled evil detector, I think that these spells should be removed from the game as they do indeed detract from RP- My cleric of Tyr (being very, very overzealous) will often judge people based on their aura and as much as I'd -like- to be able to RP with some deceptive evils, I...

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
I really like this idea. (Those numbers are murder on fighters though) I'm also for the prospect of quests relating to a skill level raising the skill level as well Another good idea might be to make quest rewards in the form of skill increases. Say a stablemaster has you buy him 10 bags of oats- In...

I'm not sure I know what you guys mean by *grinding*. (Grinding in EQ and WoW is killing mobs, waiting for them to repop, then killing them again for character level experience, so I'll assume that's what we mean.) I literally have never seen someone spend more than a few minutes killing a series of...

Re: NPC skills and moderation
It's also kind of irritating that npc spells are never interrupted, ever. So while I'm trying to cast my level 4 cure spell, and I get hit for superficial damage in the leg and lose it, Queen Necropants Jr can begin casting a level 7 insta-death spell, eat 4 morning star blows to the chest and head,...

Re: saddlebags!
One way to do this would be to add into each horse's description that they are wearing a saddlebag, make their inventory much bigger, and do away with item-saddlebags for good. There would then be a set of commands: petlist petget petgive added much to the effect of 'buy' (only free) that worked onl...
