Re: Dwellings - Unpersonalised?
These things did come up in the application as well, although the escort part is a new idea! No response either way on the application yet though.

Re: Know Alignment: Not Fair?
Casting know alignment is an invasive and rude gesture, and anyone who spams it on everyone they see it better have a damn good reason (a higher component cost may reflect this). When it is cast on one of my characters or a friend, I will (assuming my spellcraft skill succeeded to identify the spel...

Re: Dwellings - Unpersonalised?
One of the things mentioned in the application was trying to work out some sort of system to move belongings from a private room storeroom to a general warehouse type storeroom if the contract wasn't renewed after a couple rl months, followed by retrieval within a few more months if the character re...

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
I think the trouble is that the speed at which one improves in spell level doesn't really run alongside the level one attains unless you -are- grinding with it. At least, that's been my experience of it. Hence the scenario of being able to cast ninth level spells but not actually having even Mastere...

I'd add to that that they are going to be more powerfully and potently -anything-, including good and evil.Elke wrote:That said, I would suggest that part of the reason for a PC to be noticeable is that they're, well, a PC. With levels.

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
I'd suggest that maybe every time you memorize a spell, you have a -chance- to advance your 'practice counter' as Dalvyn put it, with a rule to ensure that people don't "mem spell;forget spell" for an hour to GM it. I really, really like this idea. That way it's studying rather than actua...

Re: Know Alignment: Not Fair?
Wich brings me to another small thing while the city of waterdeep is pretty much a good city, if you walked around the real waterdeep (i know that sounds stupid) with detect evil on you would see a decent amount of evils. Now ask yourself, would you randomly walk up to someone and point out to othe...

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
Whether the same holds true for a wizard constantly drawing upon the power of the Weave when they don't actually have to, merely to practice, is less clear to me. (I should ask a Mystran!) Elke still remains in fear of excessive casting due to stern talking-to's by Mystrans ;) The Weave can be dama...

Re: Dwellings - Unpersonalised?
Oh no, I -have- looked a bit into the builder's lessons and I'd -love- to do something like this, especially with a team or hard code builder's help. I have some free time at lunch at work - although I should really get on the Waterdeep descriptions I'm meant to be doing, too... Anyway, count me int...

Dwellings - Unpersonalised?
During an ask it was explained to me that dwellings are on hold, until further notice. Which I can completely understand, seeing as there are many areas needing building and I'd imagine that individual, unique, PC-specific dwellings are low on the priority list at this time. Thinking about this, I w...

Re: Spell Skill Revision Suggestion
Naturally spellcasters have to worry about all of the above, just like anyone, but entirely their own concern is the matter of components. When it was an issue of buying components from shops it was simple to go and spend your hard-earned cash. It was still troubling to spend most of your character...

Re: Books... why so expensive?
Excuse me whilst I sound callous: your character can't buy every book in the game I'm a little confused as to when this was ever suggested. Not even Elke would buy every book in the game - although she'd love to, to bar realistic factors such as cost. (In fact, she doesn't own many at all, mostly d...
